Mourning Downton Book & Movie Club: Mr Selfridge Episode 4: Teal Velvet

Last night I was more into the show than I have been since the start.
Mainly, because a few decor things stood out to me and that made it more fun.
I was totally in love with the teal velvet sofa and chairs in Rose's sitting room.
Did you catch them?



From Victorian to Edwardian and even into the 1920's richly colored velvets were the norm.
Reds, purples, yellows, blues.

{My Grams had a pale, sky blue velvet sofa in her living room when I was a kid...it was down and when you sat down it was like sinking into a pale blue cloud}.

And it just so happens that teal and turquoise upholstered  furniture is hot right now....everything old comes around again eventually!
